Horseshoes and Hand Grenades Tattoo

Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is a tattoo studio in Chicopee, Massachusetts with four artists who run from clean single-needle to full custom work, a 4.7 from 220 reviews, and a medical-grade clean shop they take seriously. None of that came through on their homepage. It opened with an empty gray banner and a long block of gray text, and you could read the whole thing without seeing one tattoo.

I redesigned the homepage on my own, because a shop with that work and those reviews was handing visitors the least convincing version of itself.

What was getting in the way

The thing that sells a tattoo studio, the art, was nowhere on the front page. The four artists were reduced to plain text links with no photo and no sample of their style, so you could not tell who did what. On a phone, where most people find a shop, the number was not even tappable, so calling meant copying it down by hand. And those 220 five-star reviews lived on Google instead of on the page where they could do some work.

What I changed

I led with the real tattoos, a wall of their actual work right under a bold hero. I gave it the dark, hand-inked look a tattoo shop should have instead of a flat template. I put the 4.7 and the 220 reviews where you see them in the first second, made the phone number tap-to-call everywhere, and turned the four artists into a real roster you can browse by style. I also answered the questions people actually call about, walk-ins, deposits, age and ID, so booking feels easy instead of uncertain.

It is built mobile first and made to take someone in Chicopee from "found them" to "called" in a single visit, because that is where this kind of decision happens.
