Chameleon Tattoo
Tattoo & piercing studio · homepage redesign
See it →A Portland studio with 25 years behind it and a 5.0 across 241 reviews, on a homepage that looked fine on a desktop and fell apart on a phone. I rebuilt it mobile first and kept the cosmic look they are known for.

Drag the handle. Left is the original site, right is my redesign.
Cosmic Sea is a tattoo studio on Forest Avenue in Portland, Maine, with 25 years in the chair and a 5.0 rating across 241 reviews. The reputation is real. The homepage was not carrying it. On a desktop it looked the part, a logo floating over a deep space sky, but the moment you opened it on a phone it was the desktop page shrunk down, with text so small you had to pinch and zoom to read anything.
I redesigned their homepage on my own, because a studio with that much trust behind it should not be losing people at the front door.
Most people looking for a tattoo are on a phone, and that is exactly where this page broke. Nothing resized. The booking path was hidden too: instead of one clear button, you had to read each artist's bio and message them on Instagram to get on the books, which is a lot to ask of someone who just decided they want a tattoo. The actual work and those 241 five-star reviews, the strongest things the shop has, barely showed up. And the body text was a faint gray on a dark background that was hard to read at any size.
I rebuilt it mobile first so it reads clean on a phone, no pinching. I kept the cosmic look they are known for, their own night-sky hero and their hand-drawn logo, because that identity is part of why people remember them. Then I led with the work, put the 5.0 and the 241 reviews up front where they belong, and gave every artist one obvious way to reach them next to a phone number you can tap. One clear path from "found them" to "booked."
It is built to take someone in Portland from a Google search to a booked appointment in a single visit, because that is where this decision actually happens.
Same studio, same cosmic look, same 25 years of work. The redesign just makes it open right on a phone and puts the reasons to trust them first. If your site is hiding what you are best at, these are the tells, and I'm happy to look at yours.
Send me your current site or your idea. I'll tell you straight what I'd change and what it would cost, usually within a day.
