4MileZ Tattoo Studio

4MileZ is a custom tattoo studio in Worcester with a deep bench of realism work, the kind of tiger and portrait pieces that make you stop scrolling. Fifty-seven reviews at 4.9 stars back it up. Their homepage opened on a logo over a neon background, with not a single tattoo above the fold and a "Book Now" button buried way down past the hours.

I redesigned their homepage on my own, because work that good deserved a front page that showed it.

What was getting in the way

Someone landing on the site saw branding, not the art. The first thing that should sell a tattoo studio, the work, was nowhere near the top. On a phone, where most people find a shop, you had to scroll past the logo and the hours before you reached anything worth booking for, and a lot of ready-to-book visitors close the tab before they get there. Booking itself was a single buried link instead of an obvious, always-present action.

What I changed

I led with the work and the styles they cover, with one of their strongest realism pieces carrying the hero. I surfaced the artists and put the 4.9-star reviews to work as proof instead of leaving them buried. I made booking one tap from anywhere on the page, and built the whole thing mobile first so the art and the artists land before the ask.

It is made to take someone in Worcester from "found them on Instagram" to "booked" in a single visit, because that is where this decision actually happens.
